This week we visited FIVE second grade classes at Barclay Elementary School - our “Partner in Kindness.” In this class, we read a story and then made our own stickers. The students will give the handmade stickers to people that they know to spread a smile and a little cheer their way. We are learning about how kindness spreads, and that even a small act of kindness can mean something BIG to someone else.

May 23, 2023 - AM

We had a busy day today visiting two schools - Barclay Elementary and Log College Middle School. We started in the morning in Mrs. Crotzer’s second grade class. We read a book that focused on our special gifts that each of have. It taught us that we all have something to give and offer another, and not to sell ourselves short. We also did a fun puzzle activity where the students wrote what they were “good” at and how all of us can come together to make this world a better place. Finally, we ended our time together by filling up 21 Smile Bags and writing out the personalized cards for the recipients.

At Simple Gifts Project we are committed to working with schools to help children learn how kindness can impact their lives and ones in their community. Our goal is to empower students to be compassionate, kind, and more empathetic individuals, just by spreading kindness one smile at a time.
